Coastal zones: salt air corrosion
At sites along the Aegean coast (İzmir, Aydın, Muğla) and the Marmara coast (Tekirdağ, Kocaeli, Yalova), salt-laden sea air accelerates corrosion on metal surfaces. This can wear a burner's fan housing, electrical connection points and mounting hardware faster than at an inland site. At coastal industrial sites, more frequent visual inspection of electrical connections and housing corrosion is recommended, beyond the standard interval.
Air quality and filter fouling in dense industrial zones
In areas with high industrial density — certain organised industrial zones in Kocaeli, Tekirdağ and İzmir — ambient particulate concentration can be higher. This causes a burner's intake grille and, where fitted, air filter, to foul faster than at a standard site. A blocked intake grille sets up conditions for an air pressure switch fault or incomplete combustion.
Humidity and climate differences
- Marmara's humid climate: higher humidity raises the risk of moisture build-up around electrical connection points and the ignition transformer — a known cause of ionisation signal problems.
